🚂 The Little Engine That Could

Once upon a time, a long train filled with toys, books, and food for children had to cross a tall, steep mountain. The toys were excited to reach the children who were waiting on the other side. But there was a big problem—the train’s engine broke down, and it could not move anymore.

The toys cried out, “Who will help us? We must reach the children!”

Soon, a big shiny engine came by. The toys asked, “Please, can you pull us over the mountain?” But the big engine puffed proudly, “I am too important for such a small job. I cannot help you.” And it chugged away.

Then came another strong engine. The toys asked again, but this one also refused, saying, “The mountain is too high. I won’t try.”

The toys began to lose hope. Then, along came a small blue engine. It wasn’t strong or shiny, but it had a kind heart. The toys pleaded, “Little engine, will you help us?”

The little engine thought for a moment and said,
“I am small, but I will try. I think I can, I think I can.”

So, it hitched itself to the train and began pulling with all its might. Up, up, up the mountain it went. The little engine kept repeating, “I think I can, I think I can.”

At last, with one final effort, the little blue engine pulled the train over the mountain. The toys cheered, “Hooray!” and soon, they reached the children who clapped with joy.
